Summary:
What a view! Snowfilled mountain-tops, deep valleys that give you the feeling of starting into tha abyss, and cool rock-formations to stare at to boot. It is one of those great Rouvy-mountain-rides. But be aware, those views come at a price. Nearly 1500 heighmeters to overcome, with stretches up to 21% in the last couple of kilometers just to make sure the legs are cooked upon finishing. Yet, I do believe this is one of the easier rides in its category of ~1500 heightmeter rides. This is because the climb is split in 3 sections, seperated by two descends which allow for a solid recovery. Moreover, the really steep parts tend to be quite shortlived, and are intertwined with lower-grade pieces. And finally, this is a relatively short ride, with less than 22 km of suffering. A must-do ride, with some on-the-road entertainment as well, such as almost getting hit by a bus (twice!) on the narrow roads, having to slalom between cows on the road and... oh yeah... encountering a random guy on a unicycle!
